Souly B. - visual artist

Brittany, AKA Souly B, is a self-taught visual artist, currently based in Richmond, Virginia. Her work consists mostly of pop art acrylic paintings with a high emphasis on vibrant, eye-catching hues and clean line-work. Souly B specializes in acrylic painting, digital illustrations, and murals.

In college, Souly B enrolled in an art class that focused on the basic methods and techniques of artistry, however, she decided to beat the norm and construct a path of her own. As the daughter of a military family, Souly B frequently moved around the world while growing up. This constant and unpredictable relocation ultimately provided her with various influences and inspiration, as she was exposed to a diverse range of cultures and lifestyles. This incredible exposure comes through in her work, as she depicts all shapes, sizes, colors, and features.

Overall, Souly B’s work is considered bold, risqué, and oftentimes provocative with strong feminist messages. Many of her paintings include nudity and smoking, as her goal is to capture the beauty and essence of women being daring, carefree, and confident. As an expanding artist, Bitty anticipates spreading her artwork on a global scale, supporting and encouraging all women to embrace their boldness and embrace their true personas, and by not following societal norms and traditional views of what women are expected to be.

Souly B is currently embracing life in Richmond with its immense art community, as she constantly observes and gains insight from the unique creativity that surrounds the city. She strives to create and foster relationships with other artists with who she can learn from and collaborate with, which she continues to grow and develop her techniques.
